Hi, all,
Period 1:
We discussed the novel briefly, and came up with predictions on how it might end. Current events were presented by most of the class, and then we reviewed vocabulary. Congrats to Jim, Faith and Joey for your first & second place (a tie) finishes. Great job during the review - almost everyone was on the board!
Period 3:
We worked on issue presentations - due on Monday.
Period 5:
Which is better: regular or dark chocolate? Mr. Goodbar or Krackle? How do you feel about homework?
The joys of persuasive writing... Can you be persuaded?
Does chocolate improve your creativity when essay writing?
Period 6:
We discussed Things Fall Apart, presented current events and assigned tasks for researching the Ibos.
Skiers, here is your prompt:
Who writes history? The conquerors or the conquered? What effect does this have on the veracity (truth) of recorded history? Can there ever be an undisputed account of history or is there always going to be two sides to the story?
Use examples to support your response.

History is written always by the conquerors. History only remembers the glory of the conqueror. For example, the great struggle between Rome and Carthage. Rome eventually overcame Carthage but it was not a sweeping victory. History however, recalls the event as a great victory for the glory of Rome. The conquerors, after conquering a country can write whatever they want in the history books. It’s not hard to control history when you’re in control of everyone who writes it. History is written by the conquerors.
