Mud
Roads soften
Puddles form
Jump, splash, EWWW!
Dirty clothes, dirty shoes, dirty cars
I hate being dirty.
Growing bugs that bite in June
Leaving large swelling lumps that itch.
I hate mud.
It is the harbinger of spring.
Change is hard
Seasons of change
Should match.
MUD
I LIKE MUD
I LIKE TO WRESTLE IN MUD WITH GIRLS
MUD IS SLIMY
SLIMY IS GOOD
IF YOU KNOW WHAT’S GOOD
IT’S MUD
IT’S IN PUDDLES
AND IN YOUR BACKYARD
DON’T RUN
YOU’LL SLIP
AND FALL INTO A PILE OF CRAP
THEN SOMEONE WILL LAUGH
AND YOU MIGHT HAVE TO SLAP
BLACKBERRY
BLACKBERRIES ARE HAIRY
THEIR THE BEST BERRY
I LIKE TO EAT THEM
BECAUSE I’M A MAN
THEIR ALSO GOOD AS A JAM
I DON’T LIKE HAIR
WHICH IS VERY RARE
THEY NEED LOTS OF WATER
TO GET FAT AND LARGER

Mud
Sean Conley
Where do you get mud,
You get it from a flood.
It has the grossest slime
Don’t get stuck or you’ll have to climb
Your truck will be dirty
your clothes may stain
Your truck my be towed in the nasty rain
Where do you get this nasty crud
You get it from mud
Mudding is better
Then driving around
Mudding is better
In your graduation gown
Gothic
Sean Conley
Stupid gothic people nag
I would like to give them a t bag
They wish they could live in a tower
And receive a golden shower
The complain all day
And avoid the sunray
They wear all black
And like to cut back
There wrists are scarred
Keep on guard
Don’t cut back like them
Mud
Mud is squishy
Mud is brown
Mud means springtime has arrived
It gets everything dirty
It seems to get worse and worse, as the days get warmer
Mud is disgusting and sticky
And stains you’re good clothes
When all the cars get dirty you know mud season has arrived
I hate the mud only sometimes
Mud is wet and cold
Bears
Bears are big
Bears are black
They get into trash and drag it out back
They get up on the bird feeders and knock them down and get the seeds
They hibernate in winter and come out in spring
They drink from the rivers, streams and creeks
There are brown bears, black bears
Big bears, small bears
Bears can bring on a big scare
Midgets midgets all around
Watch them fall on the ground
My pet midget will never stop
Until he comes out on top
He will mud wrestle any one
But they’ll be on the ground when hes done
I saw a cat
That was very fat
He chased a rat
The rat ran and got a bat
He beat the cat with the bat
Then he was tired so he sat
down
Mud…
Is the sign of thaw.
Is the sign of spring.
Is the maker of a dirty floor.
Is the maker of a trip to the car wash.
Is the time to think about paving the driveway.
Is the substance at the end of your driveway where you get stuck.
Mud
I hate mud.
Mud is dirty.
I don’t like being dirty.
I hate being dirty.
Michael Jackson…
He is the person that was black.
He was the person that was all that.
He was the father of pop.
He used to be the evil of the thriller.
He was a person of the Jackson 5.
Now the only thing he is the person with untold secret.
If he keeps working on his face it will fall off.
Evil
If the fly in your soup.
is the rock in you boot.
Is the monster in you closet.
Is the creature under your bed.
Mud
Mud on the tires,
Mud on the truck,
Mud on the windows,
Mud on your face,
Mud is sticky and fun,
Mud is brown,
Mud is dirty
Mud is for jacked up trucks only,
Mud is for hicks,
Mud is not for pretty girls,
Mud is for 4 x4ing,
Mud is for wrestling,
Mud is fun,
GET A LITTLE MUD ON YOUR TIRES!!!
Trucks
Trucks go fast,
Trucks are jacked up,
Trucks are tough,
Trucks are cool,
Trucks are big,
Trucks are small,
Trucks are string,
Trucks are hot,
Trucks are full of sticks,
Trucks are full of stacks,
Trucks are gas hogs,
Trucks are made for mud,
Trucks are loud,
Trucks are AWSOME!!!
Gothic?
Gothic people are freaks and are no use
I don’t understand what happened
They must have suffered from lots of abuse
Or maybe they think they were a vampire in a previous life
Them and their family must have had a long strife
They come out in the night and sleep all day
What the hell made them this way?
I hope they don’t want to suck my blood
I think I’ll pass
I’d rather be playing in the mud!!!
Mud
Mud is brown
Mud can be thick or thin
Mud is fun to play in
Mud feels cool between our toes
Berry’s
Berry’s are good to eat
There are all kinds of berry’s
My favorite kind are blueberry’s
I like them when there ripe
MUD
Mud Mud Mud
The rain is falling
The snow is melting
The ground is getting soft
All the water soaking in
This is the sight of spring calling
Mud Mud Mud
NIGHT
When the sun goes down
And the moon comes out
Lights go out all over town.
Little kids pout
Big kids frown
Its time for bed
Time to rest
Until night passes
And the sun comes up
Mud
Spring has come with lots of rain
It falls and falls and falls forever
Or so it seems
April showers bring May flowers
We all know it’s true
The rain beats down on streets
Making roads hard to drive on
But that is not the worst case
The dirt is hard, but not in April
Something’s made from all the rain
Brown, sticky, gross, aggravating,
I hate mud!
Hair
Blowing in the wind
It sparkles from the sun
Floating in the sea
Flowing elegantly
I caress it with my hands
Sliding whisks between my fingers
Its color is so bright
So luminous in the light
I watch it move gracefully
Her eyes look back at mine
Behind her colored veil
Her face is so pale
It once was long
Now it’s short
She wears a look to share
With wonderfully cut hair.
~Jim Rheaume~
Mud
Mud on my shoes
Mud on my pants
Mud on my hands
Mud on my face
Mud in my hair
Mud all over
Cows
Cows go moo
Cows go poo
Cows give milk
Cows feel like silk
Cow eat grass
Cows have gas
Cows have teats
Cows give meat
Cows have utters
Cows help make butter
Cows have babies
Cows have rabies
Cows are steers
Cows don’t drink beer
Cow can’t jump
Cows have a hump
Cows go moo
Cows go poo
Mud
Mud is fun pigs go in it
Mud is brown and sticky
There’s more than one way to explain mud
But I can’t think of it
There’s mug bogs and mud season
And it also bring in rain for the start of spring
There’s at least a foot deep long of mud in my driveway
Mud freezes with the frost
It softens in the sun
Rain gets rid of the snow and there’s mud
Mud isn’t cool if you wear white clothes or good shoes
Guns
Used for tools weapons hunting
They are symbolized for murder and crime
People debate on if they should be legal
There’s a reason that we have guns
I was raised that all guns are loaded and have respect
Guns are no toys but they are fun for target practice
By Victoria Bellis
Mud
Mud is brown
Mud is very sticky
Mud makes roads very bumpy
Bumpy roads are not fun to drive on
Mud is fun to make tracks in the road
Muddy roads are fun to drive with a friend
Mud is not fun to get stuck in
Mud is very fun with a truck
Trucks can go very fast when there is a lot of people around
Trucks are very fun to drive
Trucks can go fast
Tucks can go very fast but if you get stuck
Ask a friend for a hand
If there is no help
Then call for help with a phone.
Everyone should leave
this terribly awful place,
California bound
Vacation
Vacation is great
Summer is the best
One’s better than none

Mud
Sometimes you get mud on the tires,
When you go out to have campfires,
Mud is fun to tare up,
When your Chevy truck is jacked up,
Mud stains white clothes,
And it sucks when your tranny blows,
Mud is fun to wrestle in,
As long as you win,
Mud isn’t fun when it’s not runny,
So don’t laugh because it isn’t funny,
Mud attracks hicks,
Not preppy city slicks
Charcoal
Charcoal is at the end of every fire,
While the smoke goes up higher, and higher,
Charcoal makes your clothes black,
And the color will never come back,
Charcoal can be very hot,
So to touch it, I would not,
Charcoal can be liquefied,
For alcoholics who may die.
Jason, nice rhyming.
There you go Sean C let it all out.
Ali,
Your cow poem has great rhymes. They're amusing to read, and are so very true. Great poem.

Carhartts hit the spot
I will try and comment on all of the poems, these are my first reflections.
Like I said in class, I am enjoying your work and creativity in this unit. You are doing a great job in how you handle both assigned and original topics. Keep up the good work!
Katie,
I really like your Mud poem. It really celebrates how much you like the outdoors.
Scott,
Nice selection of poems. I like the last line of your Michael Jackson poem, and also your Evil poem.
Pat,
I like the impact of the last line not following your rhyme scheme.
Brad,
I agree - the directive you give at the end of your Mud poem is fantastic. It's almost enough to make me consider letting my car get dirty.
Faith,
I really like the rhythm of your mud poem. It flows really well.
