Students reviewed vocabulary, discussed Animal Farm and continued working on their research topics.
Period 3:
Students will finish A Person Worth Knowing speeches (amazing job yesterday!). We will discuss using Visual Aids and body language.
Period 5:
Students will continue to revise their essays.
Period 6:
Students will review vocabulary, take a quiz on Metamorphosis, discuss the novella to date and map Gregor's changes.
Students reviewed vocabulary, discussed Animal Farm and continued working on their research topics.

Students reviewed the first chapter of Animal Farm and outlined details of emerging characters.
Students began researching topics related to the Russian Revolution to gain a historical context for the novel.
Period 3:
Students will present their A Person Worth Knowing speech and offer critiques.
Period 5:
Students will peer workshop portfolio papers and offer feedback.
Period 6:
Students will take a brief quiz on Ch. 1 of Metamorphosis and we will discuss Existentialism, Freud, Expressionism, and Surrealism.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Period 1:
Students presented their Breathing Underwater and Speak final projects. We also started introductory activities for Animal Farm.
Period 3:
This week we will be exploring nonverbal and gesture communication. What better way to start than with a rousing game of charades?
Period 5:
Students worked on providing more setting details to ground their essays.
Period 6:
Students completed a final quiz on Three Cups of Tea and then were introduced to Kafka. We started discussing symbols and their importance, as well as how Kafka's life is reflected in his writing.
